This sausage egg & cheese frittata is a great breakfast for the holiday table or just perfect for a meal prep breakfast🍳

For Christmas, you could serve it with cinnamon rolls, or toast & butter, & fresh fruit🍎 🍌

Ingredients:
-1/2 lb ground sausage
-1 tbsp avocado oil
-8 eggs
-1/3 cup whole milk
-1/2-2/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
-1/2 tsp sea salt
-1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
2. Heat a cast iron with 1 tbsp avocado oil. Cook ground sausage & season with a dash of salt and pepper. Cook until it’s done & then set aside to cool.
3. In a large bowl, add in the eggs, milk, cheese, cooled sausage, salt & pepper. Mix well.
4. Pour into a greased pie dish or cake pan, and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until it’s cooked through.
5. Cut into 6-8 slices. Serve & enjoy!

Is there anything cozier than this cinnamon sugar sourdough sandwich bread?🍞

One of my top tips when it comes to making bread is having a good thermometer🌡️ It helps you know when your bread is done, because you want the internal temp to be around 200F degrees. I love this programmable digital thermometer from @lifemeasurebytaylor! It has the ability to alert you when you reach a desired temperature as well🫶🏻 You can use the code DADDIOSKITCHEN10 for $10 off on their website😊

Ingredients:
-60g butter, room temp
-12g honey
-10g sea salt
-50g sourdough starter (active & bubbly)
-215g filtered water
-450g all-purpose flour

For the Filling:
-1/4 cup cane sugar
-1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
-1 egg (for wash)

Directions:
1. Start by feeding your sourdough starter 6-10 hours before making your dough.
2. In a stand mixer, add the butter, honey, sea salt, & flour. You can mix to combine & then add sourdough starter & water or add all at once. Using a dough hook, mix everything together until it’s incorporated. Then go in with your hands & mix.
3. Cover your bowl & let it rest for 30 min.
4. Place your dough hook attachment on your mixer & mix on low for about 6-7 min. Or you can knead by hand for 8-9 min. If the dough is sticking to the side of your bowl, add a sprinkle of flour until it stops.
5. Cover your bowl & let it rise overnight for 10-12 hours.
6. Pour the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Flatten gently to remove any air bubbles & press into a rectangle.
7. Mix together the sugar & cinnamon in a bowl.
8. Brush the mixed egg on the top of the dough. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture & make sure to leave about an inch border.
9. Lightly coat a 9x5 or 8.5x4 baking pan with oil.
10. Roll the dough into a log & tuck the ends underneath. Tighten the loaf by pulling it towards you. Use a bench knife to lift the dough, seam side down, & place it into the pan. Cover the loaf for about 1.5-2 hours until it’s risen about 1-2 in.
11. Preheat the oven to 375F degrees. Bake for 40-45 min or until golden brown & the internal temperature reaches 200F degrees. Let the bread cool for an hour before slicing!

The best way to cook shrimp🍤 Today we are making one of our favorite shrimp pasta dishes! It’s quick, easy & so delicious.

Our three little boys devour shrimp so here’s an easy dinner recipe for (hopefully) the whole family💯

Ingredients:
-1lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
-1/2 shallot, diced
-2-3 cloves of garlic, diced
-8 oz angel hair pasta
-2-3 tbsp olive oil
-1 tbsp grass-fed butter
-sea salt & black pepper, to taste
-Italian parsley, chopped for garnish
-1/4-1/3 cup pasta water

Directions:
1. Season both sides of shrimp with salt and pepper.
2. Boil your pasta water with a generous amount of sea salt. Cook pasta according to instructions.
3. In a medium to large skillet on medium heat, add olive oil. Add your chopped shallot & garlic and cook for 1-2 min until fragrant. Do not brown garlic.
4. Add in your butter & then add in your shrimp. Flipping your shrimp only once. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side or until no longer translucent and turn off heat.
5. Add in your pasta & add some pasta water making a sauce.
6. Garnish with fresh Italian parsley & red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.

Make quesadillas faster by making sheet pan quesadillas🧀

Instead of standing at the stove & having to wait to make a bunch of quesadillas, making them all on a sheet pan makes it so easy!😍 If you’ve never tried it this way, it’s a must and an easy family meal!

Ingredients:
-2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or rotisserie
-14.5 oz can fire roasted tomatoes, drained
-1 cup corn (fresh or frozen)
-1 can black beans, drained
-1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more)
-8 burrito-sized flour tortillas

Taco Seasoning:
-½ tsp chili powder
-1½ tsp sea salt
-½ tsp black pepper
-½ tsp cumin
-½ tsp paprika
-½ tsp garlic powder
-½ tsp oregano

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F
2. Spray your sheet pan with avocado oil.
3. Place the tortillas on a baking sheet to cover the whole bottom.
4. Spoon the chicken evenly across the tortillas.
5. Add the corn, black beans and fire roasted tomatoes. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture.
6. Fold the other half of the tortilla over the filling, creating a half-moon shape.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the quesadillas are golden and crispy. Add a baking sheet on top to hold in place.
8. Remove from the oven, let them cool for a minute, then slice into sections.
9. Serve with your favorite salsa, guacamole, and/ or sour cream. Enjoy!

A very easy (no baking required) Christmas treat to make with kids: pretzel wreaths🥨🎄

Such a cute little activity that’s very easy & so cute!

Ingredients:
-mini pretzel rounds
-chocolate
-m&m’s
-sprinkles

Directions:
1. Line your baking sheet with parchment. Take 6 pretzels & create a circle or wreath.
2. Melt chocolate on the stovetop & you can either spoon it on or put it in a bag & pipe it out. Warning, it gets hot and may burn your hands if you don’t cool it first🤣
3. Make a circle around all the pretzels using the chocolate to connect them.
4. Add a second layer of 6 pretzels directly on top. And then another layer of the chocolate on top. Make sure it’s a good amount so it holds them all together.
5. Top with M&M’s and sprinkles like a wreath!
6. Put them in the fridge to harden & enjoy!

Finding calm in the chaos✨ We all have stress in our life whether it’s physical, mental, etc!

I’ve been working on slowing things down with my lifestyle, but it’s not always realistic. So even when things are busy & overwhelming there are still things I can do that help with my stress per @kalediagnostics suggestions!

They’re helping me navigate my SIBO/ H pylori & just gut issues in general. And calming stress is a big factor when it comes to healing🫶🏻 Through working with my KD practitioner, I’ve learned how much supporting my nervous system & reducing stress can improve digestion, support blood sugar balance & promote an optimal balance of good gut bacteria🦠

Here are 5 of my fav ways to decrease stress:

1. Legs up the wall- This is one of my absolute favs & one I feel like I see an instant relaxation. I just sit with my butt against the wall & my legs rest up against the wall. I try to do it every night for 10-15 min! It helps calm the nervous system & mind.

2. Grounding or sun on my face- I don’t always do this especially now that it’s getting colder, but I swear it makes such a difference in my mood! Getting my feet in the grass for a few min & sun on my face to wake me up.

3. Movement- This one is HUGE for me! I’ve had to decrease my exercise a lot, because my body I just can’t handle much extra right now while it’s healing. So I’ve been focusing on just walks outside & Pilates. It’s helped me have more energy & feel way better. Plus getting outside everyday really matters!

4. Phone boundaries- I def struggle with this, but taking time off my phone is so important. It helps me be more present but also helps clear my mind & the clutter in my brain.

5. Reading- I do love movies here & there but I’ve become much more of a book person. I feel like it’s only of the only things I do that I absolutely can’t attempt to multitask. If I’m watching a movie, I find myself scrolling my phone but if I’m reading I have to actually focus on reading!

Save yourself money by making homemade pancake mix🥞 It’s seriously easy & so much cheaper than store bought mix. It only takes 5 min to make it & saves you time in the morning☀️

If you want to make them higher protein, you can add 1-2 scoops of collagen/ protein powder or a scoop of greek yogurt! If you add greek yogurt, just decrease the milk. If you use 1/3 cup greek yogurt, decrease the milk by 2/3 cup. If you add collagen you can keep everything the same!🙌🏻

Here’s how to make it:

Dry Ingredients:
-6 cups all-purpose flour
-1/4 cup sugar
-1/4 cup baking powder
-2 tsp baking soda
-1 tsp sea salt

Directions to make them:
1. In a large bowl, add in 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups of milk, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Optional: Greek yogurt or collagen.
2. Next add in 2 cups of the dry pancake mixture. I like to shake the jar up a little before adding to make sure it’s nice and incorporated.
3. If the mix seems too thin, add a little more mix. If it feels too thick, add a bit more milk. The baking soda/ powder will make it bubble up a little. Just mix it again!

It’s soup season & this is the perfect dinner for a cold day❄️ Our homemade Italian wedding soup🍲

We’ve been making this recipe for years & it’s always so delish! Serve with a side of crusty bread & butter🧈 We used ground beef, but turkey works well too!🙌🏻

For the Meatballs:
-1 lb ground beef
-1/2 cup parmesan, shredded
-2.5 in baguette or stale bread, chopped into breadcrumbs (or about 1/4-1/3 cup)
-1 egg, whisked
-2 cloves garlic, chopped
-2 tbsp parsley, chopped
-1 tbsp milk
-1 tsp sea salt
-1 tsp black pepper

For the soup:
-64 oz chicken broth (we love @kettleandfire)
-2 cloves garlic, chopped
-1 yellow onion, chopped
-3-4 medium carrots, chopped
-3-4 celery stalks, chopped
-juice of 1 lemon
-1/2 cup pastina (or pasta of choice)
-12oz fresh spinach
-parsley, for garnish
-shredded parmesan, for topping

Instructions:
1. Starting with the meatballs, in a large stockpot (that you’ll use for everything), saute the 2 chopped garlic cloves with olive oil for a few min.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add in all the meatball ingredients once the garlic is cooled. Mix it up well until incorporated. Roll the meatballs into little balls. We like to do them small so they cook quicker and are more bite sized. Place on a baking sheet with parchment paper & set aside.
3. In the same stockpot, heat up some olive oil & add in the rest of the garlic. Stir for about 1 min until fragrant. Add in the onions & stir for about 2 min. Then add in the celery & carrots. Season with salt & pepper. Let the veggies cook down for about 5-7 min on medium high heat.
4. Add in the chicken broth & lemon juice. Bring to a boil & season with salt throughout to taste.
5. Next, add the meatballs right into the soup & let them cook through for about 3-4 minutes. Lower heat to a simmer and let everything marry for about 20-30 min. Before serving, add in fresh spinach and let wilt.
6. On the side, boil pastina, orzo or any pasta until al dente. Put in the bottom of your bowl, top with soup & enjoy! Crusty bread on the side is also a must🥖

It’s soup season & this is the perfect dinner for a cold day❄️ Our homemade Italian wedding soup🍲 We’ve been making this recipe for years & it’s always so delish! Serve with a side of crusty bread & butter🧈 We used ground beef, but turkey works well too!🙌🏻 For the Meatballs: -1 lb ground beef -1/2 cup parmesan, shredded -2.5 in baguette or stale bread, chopped into breadcrumbs (or about 1/4-1/3 cup) -1 egg, whisked -2 cloves garlic, chopped -2 tbsp parsley, chopped -1 tbsp milk -1 tsp sea salt -1 tsp black pepper For the soup: -64 oz chicken broth (we love @kettleandfire) -2 cloves garlic, chopped -1 yellow onion, chopped -3-4 medium carrots, chopped -3-4 celery stalks, chopped -juice of 1 lemon -1/2 cup pastina (or pasta of choice) -12oz fresh spinach -parsley, for garnish -shredded parmesan, for topping Instructions: 1. It’s cold & cloudy here today & just imagine you can smell these meatballs bubbling on the stovetop🍝

There’s honestly nothing better than classic homemade meatballs. We cooked our meatballs in sauce but you can cook them in the oven or fry them in a little oil in the pan & then add sauce!🥫

Ingredients:
-1lb ground beef
-2-3 garlic cloves, minced
-1 egg whisked
-1/3 cup sourdough bread, chopped
-2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
-1 tbsp milk
-1/2 cup parmesan, grated
-1 tsp sea salt
-1 tsp black pepper
-1 tbsp olive oil
-16oz marinara sauce

Instructions:
1. Starting with the meatballs, in a medium-large saucepan, sauté the chopped garlic cloves with olive oil for a few minutes on medium heat. Do not burn.
2. Then, in a large mixing bowl, add in all the meatball ingredients once the garlic is cooled. Mix it up well until all incorporated (don’t be afraid to use your hands & get messy!) Roll the meatballs into balls.
3. Reheat the same sauce pan medium high heat. Add olive oil, and gently place in the meatballs.
4. Pour in the marinara sauce. Bring sauce to a low boil and then cover and reduce heat to a simmer.
5. Once done, add your meatballs to pasta, subs or whatever you prefer! Enjoy!

One of the most popular recipes on our site: HEARTY TORTELLINI SOUP🍲 It’s the ultimate cozy meal!

Pro tip: Add ground sausage in the beginning. Brown it in oil with salt & pepper. Remove it from the pan and add it back in when you add it back in when the veggies are cooked🙌🏻

Ingredients:
-1 yellow onion, diced
-1 tbsp fresh garlic, minced
-1 tbsp olive oil
-6 stalks celery, chopped
-6 medium carrots, chopped
-2 tbsp tomato paste
-1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
-48-64 oz chicken broth
-½ cup heavy cream
-½ cup grated parmesan
-22 oz frozen or fresh tortellini
-2 cups kale, chopped
-sea salt and pepper, to taste
-fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions:
1. In a large stockpot, heat your olive oil.
2. Once warmed, add in your onions and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add the fresh garlic and let cook for another minute.
3. Next, add in the chopped carrots and celery. Season with sea salt and pepper. Let everything cook down for about 5 minutes until softened.
4. Add in the tomato paste and crushed tomatoes and mix until everything is combined.
5. Then add in the chicken stock (I'd start with about 48oz or 1 1/2 containers) heavy cream, and parmesan. Mix and let cook for a few minutes and bring it to a light boil. You can season with some more salt and pepper.
6. Next, add in the tortellini and let them cook until soft and tender. About 4-5 minutes. Add in the chopped kale and let wilt down. You can turn the heat down to low.
7. The pasta will soak your liquid, so if you want to add any more chicken broth you can here! Taste and season with anymore salt and pepper if needed.

Snickers Ice Cream Cookie Dough Balls🍫🍪 #ad A mouthful, but let me tell you, they’re ridiculously good!

The ovens usually get all the love in the fall/ winter but these balls don’t require any baking & will have anyone and everyone raving😍

I added in @snickers Ice Cream Bars🍦 You guys, these are a must try! Grabbed these from the frozen food aisle which has such a variety of products & brands. Plus lots of yummy indulgent treats to try!

Ingredients:
-2 chopped Snickers Ice Cream Bars
-1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
-1/2 cup granulated sugar
-1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
-1-2 tbsp whole milk
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1/4 tsp sea salt
-1 cup chocolate chips
-2 tsp coconut oil
-flakey sea salt

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
2. Spread 1 heaping cup of flour onto a rimmed baking sheet. Spread it out & bake it in the oven for 8-10 mi until the internal temperature reaches 160F degrees.
3. Melt the butter & let cool. In a medium mixing bowl, add the butter & sugars.
4. Add in the vanilla, sea salt, & milk. (I did 1 tbsp).
5. Add in the cooled 1 cup of flour. Mix until everything is incorporated.
6. Fold in chopped ice cream bars with a spatula. Roll the dough into balls & place in the freezer for 10 min.
7. Meanwhile melt the chocolate with coconut oil. Then dip each ball in the melted chocolate. Sprinkle with flakey sea salt.
8. Freeze! Thaw for 10-20 min before enjoying!
