The Best Soy Glazed Salmon

The best soy glazed salmon is hands down our favorite way to enjoy salmon! It's so simple to make and the marinade is just incredible. It caramelizes when the salmon cooks and it's so good. There's no other way to eat salmon for me anymore. The entire family loves it, which is mind blowing. The marinade is sweet & salty and pairs perfectly with this dish. Also, use leftover sauce to drizzle on your rice and broccoli or whatever your sides are, SO GOOD!
Servings: 3

Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon

Sauce Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients.
  • Place the salmon in a dish and pour almost all the marinade all over it. Reserve a little marinade on the side for topping after it's cooked. Let it sit on the salmon for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  • Heat an cast iron (or oven safe skillet), with avocado oil. Get it nice and hot and add the salmon with the skin side up if your salmon has skin. Don't touch it because you want it to get nice and crispy. Let it cook for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat. You'll see the side of the salmon starting to cook through.
  • Next, flip the salmon so it's skin side done and put the skillet into the oven. Let it cook for about 3-8 minutes depending on the doneness you prefer and how thick your salmon is! The internal temperature for fully cooked salmon is technically 145F degrees. We prefer it closer to 135-140!
  • Remove it from the oven! Serve with rice and broccoli and an extra drizzle of the marinade. Enjoy!

Notes

For Storing: Store the leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 additional days.
