Homemade Margherita Pizza

Probably my most requested recipe & I don’t blame you guys because it’s one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!

Dough Ingredients:

-2 cups artisan bread flour (I used Bob’s Red Mill)

-3/4 cups warm water

-1.5 tsp sea salt

-1 tsp active dry yeast


To make the dough, combine water & yeast in a large bowl. Then add the flour & salt and mix until a shaggy type dough forms. Lay dough on floured surface and knead until it’s smooth. (Helps get out air bubbles) If it’s too sticky, just add a little more flour (about a tbsp at a time). Put the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise for an hour. Divide dough into 2 separate balls. You can use it immediately or keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days, OR freeze it and use it later (this is what we did and it worked great)! Make sure to let it that completely and come to room temperature before using if frozen.

When ready to make, preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Roll and form into a circular disk. Then fold over edges to create a crust.

Top with toppings of choice! We used: pizza sauce, mozzarella, raw cheddar, tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil (you can add this once you take it out if you prefer), dried oregano, sea salt, & black pepper.
