Good Morning & Happy Friday!

Thomas & I are currently in route to Charleston for another wedding (we have A LOT this year) and we are so excited! I lived/worked in Charleston back in college (I went to USC!) and I fell in love with that city. Sadly, it was definitely when I was really struggling with my eating disorder, so I feel like I wasn’t able to truly experience it. That being said, can’t wait to go back and experience with my husband because it’s an amazing place!

Wanted to post my pregnancy update from weeks 24-26! I’m technically still 26 but almost 27 (on Monday)! This one will be pretty short since I shared our NYC trip, which was during this time! Anyway, here we go!

As far as how I’m feeling, actually REALLY good! Better than before, which is great. I was actually doing a mixture of weights and barre before NYC and I was struggling with really bad backaches. I decided to take a break when we went to NY and since I’ve been back I’ve pretty much only been walking every morning. It’s made my heart SO HAPPY. I can’t explain it. There’s just something about getting outside first thing in the morning (after my coffee, of course) and getting fresh air, sometimes, sunshine, and just straight up oxygen. I feel like it wakes me up & starts my day so right! I’m just slightly obsessed with walking right now! I’m going to keep going to barre a couple times a week, when I feel like it, but I might quit the weights and focus on walks and prenatal yoga (I’m starting this soon!)

pregnant, I’m truly learning SO MUCH MORE about intuitive eating and what I actually want. Since I was always so stressed about food, I was always so incredibly indecisive, especially when it came to ordering at a restaurant. And still to this day, I’m sometimes way too indecisive. It drives Thomas crazy 🙂 I feel like I’d always order something that sounds good in my brain, but it was never actually what I wanted off the menu and so I’d end up disappointed and Thomas’ would always look better. Haha, and I don’t even think it was intentional or I really knew I was doing it. However, I realized I’m getting so much better at ordering what I actually want, and it’s 1000000% more satisfying! Sounds so simple, but seriously makes such a difference!

As far as food right now, I’m LOVING toast, sandwiches, or anything that involves bread pretty much. I mean I always love toast, so not sure if this is any different for pregnancy, but either way. Toast is the best, and I wonder if I’ll ever tire of it, but I don’t think so 🙂 I’m loving both sweet & savory and these are my two go-to combos!

Two other foods I’m loving are smoothies!!! I made one banana pineapple one and one cherry chocolate one and they’re delicious. I love smoothies, but sometimes they don’t sit well in my stomach and make it feel weird, so I don’t eat them super often. I’ve found that sipping them slowly & trying to chew them while eating them helps them to break down & digest. The cherry chocolate recipe is on my feed! (Here’s the link). The banana pineapple was: 2 scoops Nuzest vanilla protein (one of my favorites & you can use the code Lex for 15% off) + 1/2 frozen banana + 1 cup frozen pineapple + 1 cup almond milk + lots of frozen spinach + spoonful of peanut butter! DELICIOUS. It was more of a snack than a meal!

Moving on, my belly feels like it’s really starting to pop! I feel like now when I go out in public, people might just ask if I’m pregnant and I think that’d be so cool haha! I haven’t been asked yet, and I didn’t realize how bad I’d want a belly before pregnancy. I guess you just want to look pregnant, who knows? It’s a funny thing! This past week, I’ve woke up every morning and looked down & realized it’s definitely bigger. Bigger everyday, but trust me, I know I’m not BIG yet! That’s coming 🙂 Other than that, things are pretty good over here. Just getting more and more excited everyday to meet our little guy and still in awe of this precious gift! I’m so thankful God chose us to be the parents to this baby & I cannot wait! I’m excited to share the journey with you all and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you reading this and for following along. If there’s anything else you want to see or know, feel free to shoot me a DM! Have a great weekend!

Xoxo,

Lex
