Good morning 🙂 I can’t even begin to believe that I’m already this far along and that baby is getting closer every single day! It’s starting to really feel more real for both Thomas & I. We are getting so excited for Baby T’s arrival! Yes, his name starts with a T but we’re keeping it a surprise! We actually had boy & girl names picked out before we even knew the gender, so it’s been so fun to call him by his name!
So, I never did a Charleston recap because we didn’t get the chance to go to half the places we wanted to go! But it was so worth it, because we spent so much time with my college friends and doing lots of wedding stuff! It was the best trip, and I already loved Charleston, but Thomas fell in love and wants to visit at least once a year! Here’s the short version, we stayed at the Vendue, and it was INCREDIBLE. Definitely a little pricey, but if you’re okay spending a little more, then I HIGHLY suggest it, we were obsessed!
I will share some favorite food highlights in case you ever go, but there are SO MANY places to eat and our list was a mile long. We definitely have to go back to hit everything!
-Leon’s Oyster Bar: such a cute atmosphere and a fun dinner, also would be awesome for lunch! also, the fried chicken sandwich and brussels are amazing.
-Minero: best guacamole and chips I’ve ever had & they brought the chips out in the cutest bag!
-Black Tap Coffee: IÂ got an iced latte & it was phenomenal in every way, I wish we had were able to get this everyday we were there!
-Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit- the line was long, but the biscuit was freshly baked and really yummy! I got the sausage, egg and cheese.
It was such a fun trip, but once we got home I realized how exhausted I was and that I was ready to stay put for awhile. We walked so much, and I could definitely feel it, especially since baby was getting heavier. So now we’ve been home and I’ve been loving it. Maybe I’m feeling ready for some nesting before little guy comes. I’ve been taking advantage of our town too, like the farmer’s market! It’s my favorite, and they do it all year long but it’s been so cold. It’s still been cold, but my sister and I are making it a routine to go every Saturday together, with her daughter Harper. It’s been so fun and makes me SO EXCITED for some fresh spring produce, lots of berries, warm weather, and sunshine. We’re almost there!
We also spent St. Patrick’s Day with my sister, brother-in-law, Harper (my niece), and my Mama! There was a huge festival going on outside of Thomas & I’s apartment so we walked through their and then walked to The Veil (our favorite brewery). We love that place, they have the best IPA’s! Harper tried her first Perfect Bar which was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She definitely loved it, and I don’t blame her! Can’t wait to feed Baby T fun things when he gets older. Also, this is a picture of Thomas holding Harper. I’m seriously so grateful, because this guy is going to be the BEST dad! He absolutely loves kids and I can’t wait to watch him with ours. Makes my heart melt already.
As far as food favorites recently: pretty much anything that includes banana & pb, egg sandwiches with avocado & scallion cream cheese (this is the best combo of all time), egg and avocado toast with sriracha (I’ve had this like 4 days in a row!), and then pizza. But always pizza! We still haven’t found our favorite pizza in Richmond, so we are going to make it at home more often because I request it at least once a week!
I have noticed recently that eating more smaller, more frequent meals is SUPER HELPFUL. Baby is starting to take up a lot of space and I get full so much faster. It’s so weird, because I’m usually all about big meals, but it’s apart of intuitive eating to really listen to what my body needs. Right now, that’s small and frequent! Otherwise, my stomach feels like there is so much pressure, and it’s not very comfortable.
As far as my body, I’m feeling pretty good and I’m so grateful! I haven’t had as many backaches as before, so that’s a blessing. I’ve actually found walking and pure barre have helped ease that pain a lot. I’ve also been LOVING baths with epsom salts and essential oils! SO NICE. I’ve been loving these all of pregnancy! I recently started taking Cal-Mag (calcium magnesium) at night before bed and I think it’s helping with my aches and also helping me sleep! I actually haven’t had a hard time with sleep, except for a couple nights. I am up every few hours either going to the bathroom or readjusting, but I can’t complain. So those have been some top favorites recently.
I’m officially in the 3rd trimester, which is crazy! I’ve definitely noticed that my belly is DEFINITELY bigger and much heavier haha. I also struggle to go up stairs without breathing very heavily. I had my 28 week checkup and had my gestational diabetes test, and thank goodness, I’m negative! Also, all my numbers look great and baby is doing great, so I’m beyond thankful!
That’s all for now, hope you all have a great day today 🙂
Xoxo,
Lex
