There’s nothing quite like a quick stir-fry dinner that hits all the marks—flavorful, fast, and family-approved. This easy delicious beef & broccoli is one of those go-to meals that’s always a win. Think tender slices of beef, perfectly crisp-tender broccoli, and a rich sauce that brings it all together. It’s better than takeout and healthier too. Plus, it’s ready in under 20 minutes, making it perfect for weeknights or meal prep!

What you need to make this easy delicious beef & broccoli + substitutions:

  • Beef- We used tenderloin because its so soft and had some frozen leftovers. The following cuts: flank steak or sirloin, sliced thin against the grain, work well too. You could also try chicken or shrimp!
  • Soy sauce The soy sauce adds the perfect touch of savory, salt, and flavor to this beef & broccoli recipe! We love to use tamari, but you could also use regular soy sauce, liquid aminos, or coconut aminos.
  • Honey– The honey adds a perfect touch of sweetness and pairs so well with the soy sauce. We did 3 tbsp and it felt like the perfect sweetness. If you want less, do 2 tbsp. Brown sugar works as well too.
  • Garlic– Chopped or minced garlic is the perfect flavoring agent to this dish. In this case we added the minced garlic to the sauce. You can also use garlic powder if you prefer.
  • Broccoli– I just love pairing beef with broccoli and rice. I feel like the combination is so good together and the boys actually like broccoli! You could try green beans or any veggie you’d like.
  • Jasmine rice– We use jasmine rice for everything so that’s what we used for this meal! You can use any white rice or brown rice you prefer. Cauliflower rice would make a great low carb option.
  • Sea salt We use Redmond sea salt, it’s our favorite and we use it in everything! You can use the code daddioskitchen for 15% off. We get the big big bag! 🙂
  • Black pepper Black pepper adds warmth and depth.

Pro Tips for Success:

  • Slice beef thin: This helps it cook quickly and stay tender.
  • Flash-steam the broccoli: Quickly blanch or steam it before adding to the pan so it doesn’t overcook or turn mushy.
  • Use high heat: Stir-frying works best with a hot pan.

Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2-3 cups broccoli
  • 1 tsp sea salt more to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil or avocado oil
  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp honey

For Topping:

  • sesame seeds
  • sriracha
  • green onions chopped

Instructions

  • Make your sauce by combining ingredients and set aside.
  • Heat a large skillet, add about 2 tbsp water. Pour in the chopped broccoli and mix it around until it's warm. Then cover with a lid and let it steam for about 3-5 minutes until tender. Remove broccoli from the pan.
  • In the same pan, add in the avocado oil and get hot. Add in the beef and season with salt and pepper. Sear for about 2-3 minutes and then pour in the sauce. Cook until the beef is cooked through, mixing around.
  • Add the broccoli back to the skillet and give it a good stir. Let it cook on low together for a few minutes so the flavors can marry.
  • Serve over preferred rice or without. Add green onions, sesame seeds, and sriracha for added flavor. Enjoy!

Notes

Storing: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water to keep the sauce saucy.
